About Our Services
Do I have to be fully undressed for a massage?
No. Your comfort is our top priority. You may undress to your level of comfort. Some clients choose to remove all clothing, while others leave on undergarments. Regardless of your choice, you will be professionally draped with a sheet and blanket at all times. Only the specific area being worked on will be uncovered.
What kind of oils or lotions do you use?
We use BIOTONE Dual-Purpose Massage Crème. It is a rich, non-greasy formula infused with Arnica and Ivy extracts to help soothe the skin. It provides a smooth glide for deep work without leaving an oily residue, making it excellent for all skin types.
What is the difference between Swedish and Deep Tissue massage?
Swedish massage uses long, relaxing techniques to promote relaxation and improve circulation. Deep Tissue targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension. We often blend techniques from both styles to create a session that is both relaxing and effective for relieving tension.
How is Movement Coaching different from a massage?
Massage is a passive therapy where you relax on the table while the practitioner works on you. Movement Coaching is an active partnership. We use dynamic and assisted stretching techniques where you may be asked to engage specific muscles, apply gentle resistance, or coordinate breathing to safely improve your range of motion.
What is the difference between “Assisted Stretching” and “Movement Coaching”?
They’re two separate services with different goals. With Assisted Stretching, you receive the work: a hands-on session where we stretch and decompress your body and you leave looser that day. With Movement Coaching, you learn the work: an active session where you participate and take away techniques and body awareness you can use on your own. Choose stretching to recover, coaching to learn to move better.
Is Movement Coaching the same as Physical Therapy?
No. Movement Coaching improves general movement quality and flexibility, and it is not a substitute for physical therapy or medical care. It does not diagnose or treat injuries or medical conditions. If you are recovering from surgery or a fresh injury, please consult a physical therapist before booking.
What should I wear for a Movement Coaching / Assisted Stretching session?
Unlike a traditional massage, Movement Coaching / Assisted Stretching sessions are performed fully clothed. Please wear comfortable, flexible clothing (like athletic shorts, yoga pants, or a t-shirt) that allows you to move easily.
What is Reiki and what should I expect?
Reiki is a quiet, meditative energy technique. Unlike massage, you remain fully clothed on the table. The practitioner may use a light touch or keep their hands hovering slightly above the body.
- What does it feel like? Experiences vary. You may feel sensations of warmth, gentle tingling, or pulsing. Others feel nothing but a deep sense of relaxation and peace. Both are normal!
What is Reflexology? Is it just a foot massage?
Not quite. Reflexology is a targeted pressure-point technique that focuses on specific points on the feet and hands. It is based on the traditional idea that these points correspond to different areas of the body, so rather than working the foot like a standard massage, sessions follow these reflex points with focused pressure. Most clients find it deeply relaxing and grounding.
